Gypsy Jazz Guitar Secrets App Reviews

Downloaded the free previews to test. One gave nothing but a splash page asking for me to subscribe. Others gave nothing but a blank white screen. Very disappointing as I am very interested. Wont subscribe if the free issues wont show whats offered!

Really informative stuff inside. I like the musical scores that accompany the lessons. Very easy to follow.

This app is a fun way to discover new techniques and musical artists. I could easily get glued to it - and come out for the better.

This app really shows the potential for instructional media on the IPad. Robin Nolan is a great musician with a lot of experience in teaching this style in a way thats easy to understand. He also has some excellent guest instructors. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves gypsy jazz/Django music.

Robin is amazing, but once you open an "issue" you cant close it to select another. At least on my ipad2.

Secrets of Gypsy Jazz is for anyone serious about great music. The format is an ideal blending of great writing, video, and charts. Robin is a truly creative host and makes a great publisher.

Loving this emag! If you are interested in all things Gypsy Jazz what more could you ever want!?!? Each issue is an intelligent array of whos-who (both yesterday and today) and how they do what they do. You can get to know todays top players while gleaning all the how-to you can handle. This mag should be required reading! And as far as the tech side of the app goes...I find all bugs have been corrected. This emag is a major contribution to fans and players alike...Kudos to Nolan and Company!

The Django in June issue is fabulous! Robin and his team capture the essence of this event. The magazine entertains as much as it educates - kudos to Robin for finding a new way to spread the joy and excitement of Jazz Manouche.

Robin is perhaps the best teacher around. He has one of the best methods to starting the style. Without a doubt you will hit the ground running!

Great way to learn this challenging material!

I am a lifelong guitar player and like many others, I have explored numerous styles of guitar over the past 30 years. When I decided to focus on Gypsy Jazz a few years ago, I found that one of the best ways to discover it (without having a teacher of Gypsy Jazz nearby) was through Robin Nolan’s books and CDs. Secrets magazine not only reflects Robin’s generosity and straightforward teaching style but also includes other video lessons, profiles and perspectives by some of the world’s finest musicians. There are no other guitar magazines like it! Each issue is a gem, with a wealth of information that would be impossible to get anywhere else.

The best iOS guitar instruction magazine available. Content is equal or better in quality if not quantity than print magazines. You get least 5 lessons w/tab and multiple tutor videos as well as exclusive performances from jazz and gypsy jazz musos and the occasional giants.. Minor quibble: sometimes the audio could use a little post-production (some vids are recorded in spaces not best suited for recording) but this is just opinion and does not interfere with instruction.
